"The Nordic Media Festival was an extraordinary event, and proved immensely valuable to me as a journalist. During the day, I found myself drawn to panel after panel as speakers from around the world offered fresh perspectives on a media landscape undergoing volcanic change. At night, the conference organizers arranged lavish dinners and reseptions in one of the world's most beautiful venues. I ended the trip with a tour of the fjords, a trip I shall never forget."
Bob Drogin, Pulitzer winner and Staff Writer, LA Times
Founded in 1988, the festival is a non-profit foundation. Over the years, the festival has established itself as being of the highest quality in regard to professional relevance, current topics and variation in subject matter. The festival in 2011 will offer about 45 sessions, covering the most pertinent subjects; from media policy, development of digital media, communication strategies and future technological challenges, to programme making, ethics, press freedom, content and magazine development.
“I was very pleased by the responses to my session, and also learned much from the other sessions that I attended. I hope the event continues to grow in success!”
John Ellis, Professor, Royal Holloway College
In addition to the conference and social events for the media industry, the Nordic Media Festival organizes events in the city centre and a variety of projects for high-school students.
