Photographer and filmmaker
Gabriel Chaim is a Brazilian independent documentary photographer and filmmaker. Gabriel is specialized in areas of conflict, humanitarian crisis and other extreme situations. He has published his photos and videos in mainstream media all around the world. He is a regular contributor of CNN, Spiegel TV and Globo TV. He has won two Emmys (2018), a Peabody (2018), has been awarded in the Overseas press club of America (2018) and won the Deutschen Fernsehpreis (2019).
Gabriel has worked with the band U2 using drone footage of Syria and Iraq during two different world tour (Innocence and Experience and Joshua Tree) projected during the concert. Since 2011, Chaim has covered the war in Syria from different points of view - the war against the dictator Bashar Al-Assad in Aleppo and the war to liberate Kurdish places from the Islamic State
He has followed the operations since the Peshmergas in Kurdistan, till the Iraq military operation, on the ground, inside Mosul, house by house. Chaim has worked in Gaza, during the military coup in Egypt, Iran and refugee camps in Jordan and Turkey.
