Angelos Frangopoulos is the Chief Executive Officer of GB News. The start-up is the first major news channel in the United Kingdom for more than 30 years and is due to launch in mid-2021 with 120 journalists across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
He joined the GB News parent company All Perspectives Ltd in 2019. Prior to that he was CEO of Sky News Arabia and previously CEO of Sky News Australia for 15 years, building it into that country's leading provider of 24-hour television news services.
He started his career in community radio before moving to Midstate Television, Prime Television, Nine Network Australia and eventually British Sky Broadcasting in London. He then joined Sky News in Sydney, rising through the ranks as Chief of Production and Managing Editor.
Alongside his media career he has held numerous board and advisory roles in government organisations, charities, universities and industry bodies.
He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours 2018 for his significant service to media, higher education, the promotion of journalistic standards, and to the community.
