Gjermund S. Eriksen

Gjermund S. Eriksen is an International Emmy-winner as a writer and executive producer for Mammon 2 (NRK). HBO has also remade Mammon in both Poland (Pakt) and Czech (Mamon). He is also the creator of the happy noir Livstid (For Life) for the national broadcaster NRK. Currently he is creator and showrunner for Furia, a thriller-series about fighting right-wing extremism in an ever-polarizing political climate in Europe, airing September 2021. 

In 2015 he created the light-hearted legal-series Aber Bergen that ran for three seasons (TV 2). In the last two years, he also created and hosted one of Norway’s biggest political podcasts/radio-show, Trump vs the world (Trump mot Verden), about the relationship between American politics, communications and tv-dramas. The podcast was among the top 10 shows in Norway until it ended when the main antagonist left The White House.  

Eriksen has a degree from the University of Oslo studying Nordic and English literature, language and culture-studies, before starting working at the Institute of Culture Studies at UiO. He worked ten years in the Norwegian communications-industry with Norwegian, Nordic and global clients and brands before finally getting a script in development at the public broadcaster in 2010. When Furia aires fall 2021, it will be his fourth show in 7 years.  

In April 2021 he will have a premiere on an audio-drama, a 4-part thriller based on a Jo Nesbo shortstory, The Jelaosuy Man, co-written with Embla Vejer Bugge. This is the first big audio-drama from one of Norway’s largest publishers Aschehoug.
